Since M87’s plasma jet is in the news, and some sources are making it sound like a new discovery.. it was first noticed on a glass plate at Lick observatory in 1918, and can be photographed with a moderate sized telescope. This is through my 6” f/8 Newtonian. #space#galaxy#astrophotography
Spent the early morning watching the Moon pass in front of the Pleiades in the telescope. Got to see a few of them disappear behind it and re-emerge on the other side later on.
Neptune and Triton at opposition ZWO ASI224mc, 2.5x Barlow, 8” f/8 Newtonian on EQ mount. 25% of 1000 frames at 360ms #planets#space#astrophotography
Kicking off spooky season with the Ghost of Cassiopeia, a combination of reflection and emission nebulae, being illuminated and ionized by one of the brightest #stars#astrophotography#space
Nothing to see here.. just a peacock on my truck, in the rain. So glad I have those aftermarket chrome roosting bars.
