I’m so glad it changed your way of thinking. For them, it’s about ego - people who have spent years, if not decades defining themselves by their knowledge of the crimes feel that they are now being told they’re wrong. It has nothing to do with the women and everything to do with them.

It also told me so much about the lives of women - and indeed everyone - in Victorian East London.
