Eyyy, nice! I rode a 2001 F650GS Dakar from Ohio to central Mexico and back around a decade ago. The bike took a ton of abuse, including getting hit by a car, as well as doing an Iron Butt from Austin > Dayton. I kinda miss it, and would buy it back in a heartbeat given the chance.

Dunno if newer ones have the same problem, but mine was v. finicky & would run crappy if I didn't let the fuel pump & ECU fully cycle before firing it up. Also, the fuel filter & pressure regulator are (were?) a single integrated unit, and hella expensive to replace. If bad gas is a concern, (1/2)
