TS: Mortals never understand the price of their own dreams Me: AGHHH I GET IT! SHUT UP SHUT UP!! YOU ARE SO PREACHY!!! DAMN! TS: Dream also put a woman in hell for 10000 years because she told him no Me: wtf
It's not something that excuses her, but to me, it serves as attenuating circumstances. I think Forrest had that strength, and despite everything, he loved her because he had love to give.
it has so many more cool ideas and it feels like it has more meat on its bones, it's so weird, man. I don't want to say that the critics were right or anything, but.. maybe trying to do stuff more than just being catchy can add so much variety (and longevity) to a record.
Although since its the world of today I might end up romanticizing the moral decadence side and make it all ambiguous because of social oppression and stuff... AGHHH! Stop it adhd brain! you already have a novel to write! We don't need to write a novel that will already be dated in half a century!
Now, if you asked me how we could use the concept to make things that deal with moral decadence today and put them under a layer of spooky vampire jargon, I can get dozens of ideas!
Also for someone coming from October Rust and Slow Deep, this album feels like a mix of the two, all the tracks Peter removed in the reissues can be put in Slow Deep and Hard if you want and they fit better on a listen there. Transitional albums amirite?
I actually have listened only to October Rust and Slow Deep Hard but if posting this record means I can post risky Yuri on my profile I call this an absolute win!
Like... you could have cut half of this dialogue and made it a lot less preachy. This is the kind of author that is afraid people won't get their message. I know it because I go through the same thing when I write!
