In 1153 the Earl of Leicester established Nuneaton Priory & set the monks up with property & rents. But no eels! Turns out, he had already promised the eels from his holdings in Welles to the church of St. Mary de Prato of Leicester. Sometimes there's just not enough eels... 🗃️🧪
