No it’s legal in the UK, I was home-educated. If you take your kids out of school then the local council can check on you but if you never went there’s no legal restrictions or requirements (I have complicated feelings about whether it’s a good idea but that’s a whole other conversation)

Oh, no, I don't think they mean home schooling... they mean taking a child out of education and not giving them any alternate education! I've heard that home schooled kids get very lonely though, because they don't have the luxury of friends just being there every day
