Syndicated print comics are weird. It's totally normal to have a 1960s era strip being drawn today by the creator's grandkids. It's normal to have the credit still going to an artist who has been dead forty years, but the estate still wants merch rights so the name stays on.

I learned today that Gasoline Alley is still in production. And instead of trying to do the cool art literacy stuff I associate with old Gasoline Alley, they just try to trace the loose line work and prewar Orphan Annie eyes on (only some of) the characters. Not great.
