This was my first Falcom game and it's the one I always point to as an example of their "house style", rock solid RPG mechanics that are never too basic or too complicated and a well paced campaign that explores all the potential of its systems. I see aspects of it in Ys, Nayuta, and even Kiseki.

I'm not gonna die on a hill for Palworld of all things but surely it's obvious how Nintendo claiming they own the concept of "capturing monsters" or "riding mounts" or whatever is outlined as "patent infringement" is harmful for video games generally right?

The thing that really stuck out to me about the DLC stories was their roughness and, frankly, blunt and on the nose metaphors. It takes confidence to create art and expose yourself so having confidence even in the silly, dumb, and obvious is powerful.
I'll probably repeat this next Weeb Wednesday but it is wild how people are sleeping on the currently running Pokemon anime. It is straight up one of the best shows of the year and every episode is a banger. If you have any fondness for Pokemon you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Realized way later I should recommend some for people starting totally new! Ace Attorney and Danganronpa are good entry points I feel, I recently liked 428: Shibuya Scramble and think it's a good intro as well. My absolute favorites ever are Ghost Trick, Danganronpa V3, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
