Newsom is a contemptible piece of shit. Between this and his other many betrayals of Labor, I can’t imagine why anyone would think he could be viable as a national candidate. He doesn’t deserve to hold elected office.
In this case, our state legislature DID care and passed the bill. Our governor is just a jackass

I say this as a Californian: deep blue states foster some of the worst Democrats. Not exclusively, but definitely seemingly disproportionately. The wealthy will find politicians they can capture and corrupt. They may consider Republicans easier, but if Rs are powerless the grift,uh… finds a way.
I'd still take a blue state over a red one if I had to pick a place to live.
If it’s Newsom, I think we can in fact assume the opposite without even peering into specific cases. He also just vetoed a bill to save lives by requiring speed controls in cars.
