The TV program based on Charles Addams' cartoons, "The Addams Family," premiered 60 years ago, on September 18, 1964.

When they met Scooby Doo in their first animated appearance most of the cast returned to voice themselves, but then when they went to a 16 episode series only Coogan and Cassidy reprised their roles. Interestingly enough, John Astin did eventually return in the 1992 cartoon.
