Ah. I was there for that service / ceremony / palaver once. I don’t remember an outcome being declared (or a hankie being waved) but it was all very crowded and excitable and everyone seemed to be delighted, so that’s all good. It was broadcast live on RAI Uno.

It was 2014 and it turns out that was also a ✅. No wonder they were excited. This report says the hankie was waved at 10:12. Shame I missed it (but it was very crowded and standing room only - which is more than cathedrals usually manage, so good on em).
