Culturally, we finds the idea of "that's a bad question" distasteful. But frankly, good scientific questions have fail states. Not just a null hypothesis where no conditions differ, but where some differences are not possible. A lot of papers do not ask questions like this

And then we take these findings that may be spurious or too focal, yet justified by citation of 1 of 20,000 other papers, and publish it making yet another paper that doesn't actually contribute to sum total knowledge, just sum total publication output.

When any results come out if an analysis, we look for citations as to why these are justified and use them to reason why they're legitimate. How many studies explicitly design so that only one outcome out of many can be legitimate? If every possible answer is "good". None are...

God yes! A thousand times yes! The reproducibility crisis is being tackled in ways that don't actually solve the root problem of paper findings not facilitating further work. Regardless of rigour or ground truth! There's much more fundamental issues out there. Our reasoning is very often flawed..
