The timing is particularly bad because “can be used to find your car” is not particularly breaking news when the other story of the day is “can be used to dox strangers.”

Meta is rolling out some of the previously announced features to its AI-powered Ray-Ban smart glasses for users in the US and Canada.

There are already apps for this and failing that you can take a photo to remind you of where you parked.

Funny I have a fob that can make my car honk so that it's easy to find, all without wearing a piece of headgear that doxxes my neighbors.

Also, Meta? They want Meta to know where you parked your car? So you can come back to find flyers for the Tuttle Twins and prepper buckets tucked under your wipers?

"Hey girl, nice address" *wink* I'm sure these types of things would be *totally* safeguarded against. It's not like our tech-overlords would overlook security for the end users!

Oh I'm sure there's no way they can be used to find someone else's car.

I find my car the old fashioned way, remembering where I parked it. But that seems to be too much cognitive load for these guys.

I mean if Captain Kirk didn’t have it, do we really need it?

Star Trek The Voyage Home: “Everybody remember where we parked.”

My keys will find my car as will the car app and my phone. When will these tech bros give us the future we want? - goldfish cracker delivery and drone tech that hunts and electric shocks every man who starts a podcast about AI
