Obama didn’t support us on “borderline controversial” topics and yet, with time, we still made great gains for queer/trans rights.

The sad truth is some trans issues - girls sports and gender transition-related medical care for minors - don’t poll well with independents. I keep reminding people that Obama did not support same sex marriage 16 years ago. I’m still glad he was elected.
