🙏Many thanks for thinking about our paper! I don't disagree that "shallow brain" is (somewhat) misleading. However, I do think that the title helps to draw attention to the contrast with the prevailing view. Besides "Deep, but with shortcuts, brain hypothesis" would not be the catchiest title ...

Thank you! I agree that 'shallow' is a bit shallow. Our main goal was, indeed, as a first step, to put our foot down against the prevailing view that hierarchy is the key. We are aware that we need to elaborate on the framework and are grateful for help from the community!🙏
