*extremely* telling that the NYT frames a family leaving a state because their trans son literally could not get the medical care he needed as a "politically motivated move" and an abstract "issue" rather than one connected to their child's intrinsic humanity www.nytimes.com/2023/10/07/u...
Is a woman with a medically dangerous pregnancy, leaving Texas to get medical care, leaving for political reasons?
It's like an article about Jews fleeing Nazi Germany that goes: "One family relocated due to a single political issue — the Nuremberg laws —"
Damn liberal media at it again!
Real cowardly word choice tbh
Brutal.
How did this post on the NYT reporting that parents moving out of concern for the well-being of their child is political become a "liberals are fascists" debate?
Jesus. As someone whose friends had to move out of Texas due to this "political issue", the Times can just fuck all the way off. How dare they pretend to be journalists.
Good lord, that's some f-tier writing. A proper editor could have tightened all that up by buzzsawing half the words while keeping the focus on the human heart of the story. But then, it wouldn't be the NYT, would it?
It's even worse when you look at crime rates and see that St Louis has a 30% higher crime rate than Portland. It's not a rational move. The journalists never think to include that bit.
