Thanks for the J A-O recommendation. County library service catalogue no longer seems to work in Safari so can’t check holdings; no e-versions in BorrowBox. Have you read any of Quintin Jardine’s Bob Skinner books? Also set in Edinburgh. I find the lead character irritating but storylines good.
