"think you know that is not what I mean by curing autism." and i think you know that i didn't claim this is what you meant. i very explicitly state that this is a description of the most likely form a "cure" will take. what people wish and what is probable are hardly synonymous.

"I had made the comparison to helping paraplegics walk, or rather giving them the ability to walk again. I want that for autism." setting aside whether these are analogous, what *I* want for both autists and all disabled people is a society that changes for us instead of changing us to fit itself.

I'm sorry, but I don't think that is what is probable either. Mostly because what you were referring to touches upon eugenics territory. And suggesting that fixing autism would lead to eugenics is counterintuitive to research that can help a lot of people.
