1. National Portrait Gallery 2. Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (seriously, this is one of the country’s great museums) 3. Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris
I'm not even an art person but the portrait gallery is such a wonderful visual history of the US.
The third largest collection of Fabergé eggs in the world, and the largest in the western hemisphere!
1. The Corning Museum of Glass 2. The Getty 3. Art Institute of Chicago
1. The Pitt Rivers in Oxford (like some Victorian collector's eccentric treasury) 2. The Bargello in Florence (because it's housed in a medieval prison) 3. The Narodni Museum in Prague. Especially the mineralogy, because it rocks! And also because, well, you are now in Prague.
No museum has surprised me as much (in the best way) as VMFA
Had never been to the VMFA before last year, but went there to see the amazing Whitfield Lovell retrospective and was very impressed.
Agree that the VA museum is underrated
Oh, yes. The VA Museum is wonderful.
What else is there to do in Richmond? I live in Fairfax and I've wanted to check it out for years
1. Musée D’Orsay Paris 2. The Met 3. Tate Britain or Courtauld (small but fab)
