the polling is a modeled electorate and not the actual electorate. it is a representation of a thing and not the thing!

Back in the day, Mike Royko used to tell people to lie, especially on exit polls. Then when the actual count came in, he'd just laugh while the anchors around him fumed. Sometimes we should just be patient and wait for the results!
Polls are not for my use in determining who I think the president will be, they're statistical models. They're supposed to guide campaign outreach, they are not determinative!

What value does polling have to me? I'm not deciding where to deploy a candidate or where to spend money to shift votes. I'm going to vote for Dems. I'm going to work to get other people to vote for Dems. Polling doesn't change either of those facts.
