Short answer: no. Longer answer: mate, there are 9 of them. Labour have 412 MPs. How, precisely, are they going to bring Labour down?
I long ago muted Rentoul's account.
Rentoul has a running joke about how the answer to any question in a column title is always "no", so I doubt he's actually arguing this so much as mocking people who think it.
Daft headline, but Greens are 2nd to Labour in 40 seats now, and indies ran Labour close in maybe another 10, so I can see this being a big headache in the next. And I strongly expect Greens to cause Lab all sorts of probs in local elections during this Parliament.
A more pertinent question would be whether the Greens can survive this Parliament without imploding because of contradictory policy positions.
Rather more than 9 if you include the Libdems. But i think you're still correct.
Owen Jones has been posting much the same thing in The Graun. Every single word of this last bit made me laugh.
They are going to use the power of delusion, apparently it is the same power that convinces people that they are better off since Brexit.
Classic Rent-A-Tool. If the leader ain't Blair, he'll do anything to undermine them. It's been 16 years, John. Let it go mate.
