What so many young people with disabilities seem to both want and actually need is less ‘othering’ into separateness and more connection. Many need separate provision in terms of spaces - sharing a curriculum experience becomes therefore important.

I wonder if we as a profession in this country we have an implicit distrust of agency for children, with the assumption that the choices will be poor? I’d be interested to know if agency is regarded differently in other countries.
