Clutching our old, non-IoT toothbrush for all I'm worth.
Wonder about the software stack in these toothbrushes (maybe not too different from some professional network equipment?). infosec.exchange/@wdormann/11...
TIL smart toothbrushes exist? I'm genuinely curious. What's the point? To get proper feedback on your brushing technique?
Amazing
The toothbrush story is very likely false, a Swiss news site seems to have misunderstood something and gave a false example. The security company quoted by the newspaper says they have no recollection of such a botnet. See: bsky.app/profile/zerk...
Reminds me of this: youtu.be/V39qPwKpcGg?...
What kind of fucking idiot would connect their toothbrush to the internet
Next thing you'll tell me that half a billion bluetooth speakers were hacked to broadcast Russian propaganda and DDoS US "Healthcare".
I like gadgets as much as the next gal, but for me, smart toothbrushes are right up there with smart toilets. Just not something I would ever need. Here's another good reason to stick with the old fashioned kind! (Which, for me, is a Sonicare, but still.)
