Interim name suppression the man has now had for 622 days will continue until at least his name suppression appeal hearing.
Name suppression may make it less likely for other survivors to know about the conviction and come forward to lay charges. Abusers seldom restrict themselves to only two victims. With #ThreeStrikes law coming back this guy will be hoping no one else contacts NZ police.
