I don't claim to be perfect (or the only voice in a polysemic conversation), but my expertise stands out very early on in my career for a reason. There's a reason my scholarship has impact and reach. I will never apologise for that!

also, calling an R2 faculty's scholarship "grad student work" feels entirely pointed... and reveals how little some of us respect graduate student and early career labour. (even when you're an ECR too!)

this week's encounter with academic elitism: because I work at an R2 and have state school degrees, my work was devalued upon arrival. what good is an "open" call for papers if those of us outside insular circles of the ivies were never imagined within knowledge making?

I actually might be back in town again then! will definitely attend if I'm around.
