Competition mini painting opinion: You might not win an award but if you're proud of your work, your time spent is never wasted. 10 hours or 100, you've poured your passion and care into a piece of artwork. It has innate value regardless of any trophies you may or may not win.

Very true. I have pieces I have entered that I will look back on and think " that was fun painting that for reason".

This is so true. I haven't painted many competition pieces, but each one has dramatically improved how I approach display painting. Time spent seeking and working towards perfection may not be given a prize, but it won't be wasted.
