Robert Jenrick's campaign manager Danny Kruger asked about why none of the panelists have mentioned climate change, replies that the "environmental lobby" has "overreached itself" and they now have an opportunity to attack Labour for their "madcap" climate schemes.

Didn't realise that I'd be writing this on the day @ukandeu announced it wd be closing. But an American friend took our Brexit and the State report to Florence as holiday reading...she recommends it (and the duomo).

This is a real shame. Obviously money is finite and funding is competitive but @ukandeu.bsky.social@anandmenon.bsky.social has been a model for how academics can do public and policy engagement in recent years. I hope that it develops into something else & also functions as an example to others.

I'm disproportionately angry about this. A really excellent institution, fulfilled its remit impeccably. Model of serious, accessible value-adding academia.
