Think it might be a bit, Adelaide was definitely flat! Brisbane nipped for a few days then flattened out. Melbourne and Syd v bowler friendly on days 1 and 2. Lots of rain around that summer which helped as well.
2010/11 was also the greenest ashes pitches in Australia possibly ever - allowed Anderson and Bres to do well. Since then they've been much flatter. Think thats why they're keener on Carse and Atkinson than eg Woakes/Sam Cook.
Yeah, think thats fair comment. Wood is the key, if we can get 3 tests out of him that will be really helpful. Atkinson shaping up to be a really key player as well. Not sure I buy that Bresnan was ever world class though, even in 2011- just very very good!
