Dickey Rd. East Chicago. Sunday night. #photography#NightPhotography#indiana

We're on an elevated toll road, standing on the shoulder, looking northeast up Dickey Rd, which has a little hump of a bridge that crosses the Indiana Harbor and Ship Canal, then approaches BP's whiting refinery, which is bright white contrasting against a nearly dark night scene in the rest of the image. A lone car races away from us on the road, leaving a blur of brake lights. Along the left side of the road, we see some leading lines of orange cones pointing up toward the horizon. Between the cones and the refinery is Marktown. On both sides of Dickey Rd, tall pylons carry industrial-grade electricity to the refinery, and to the sprawling industrial hellscape surrounding it on all sides.
