Post script: the machine decided I got that wrong, and was forced to identify motorcycles. 🤯

Oh, this is rich... While submitting a comment in support of a proposed rule limiting vehicle height, the CAPTCHA is questioning whether *I can see bicycles*! Click here to add your comment too: www.regulations.gov/document/NHT...

A screenshot of my browser. I'm on regulations.gov, adding my comment in support of a rule that would help vehicles see cyclists and pedestrians. And the CAPTCHA has decided to ask me if *I* can see bicycles. I have currently selected one of the 16 cells in the grid, which contains most of a cyclist's front tire.

March 10th. Somewhere in the loop. (NE corner of ...) #photography#chicago

It's a sunny day in March. It's just after noon, and the harsh midday light is directly on this scene on the NE corner of an intersection in the loop. A man in a black shirt and a black pinstripe apron stands outside a building during a a smoke break. The corner of the building he stands in has an arch starting over his right and exiting up over him on the left of the frame.

Hubbard St. #chicago#photography

A staircase enters the frame at the bottom-left corner. It ascends for a bit, then levels out, then ascends up and out the right side of the frame. A woman is on the flat part walking to the right. The scene is very dark, and so most of the space is black. The woman's burgandy pants and reddish hair are visible, but not much else. Similar tones are in rust on the stairway below her, and in red graffiti above her. The whole shot is almost solely black, white, and splashes of red.

I really enjoy your photos of flowers (and plants, more generally). I almost always find these to be a boring subject in other people's photos. Yours seem more melancholy (a more interesting mood to me) and to have more dynamic range (not all overblown and white). Love what you're doing :)

Stakeout. In the marsh. #photography#NightPhotography#chicago

We're in a black car, looking out the window, in a fairly desolate location. It's night and there is hardly a streetlight in sight. Perfect location for mischief. The road extends out away from us to the right upper corner of the frame. On teh far side we see a few small trees, some power or telephone lines, and a mysterious red flash.

My recent bout sucked more than I remembered from before. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Dickey Rd. East Chicago. Sunday night. #photography#NightPhotography#indiana

We're on an elevated toll road, standing on the shoulder, looking northeast up Dickey Rd, which has a little hump of a bridge that crosses the Indiana Harbor and Ship Canal, then approaches BP's whiting refinery, which is bright white contrasting against a nearly dark night scene in the rest of the image. A lone car races away from us on the road, leaving a blur of brake lights. Along the left side of the road, we see some leading lines of orange cones pointing up toward the horizon. Between the cones and the refinery is Marktown. On both sides of Dickey Rd, tall pylons carry industrial-grade electricity to the refinery, and to the sprawling industrial hellscape surrounding it on all sides.

A blurry scene of the woods northeast of Clark Rd in NW #Indiana#photography#NightPhotography

We're on a narrow road in the woods. On our left, a string of power lines cascade from the left side of the image, off into the distance, to the right side. Beyond it, some scraggly trees appear as silhouettes against the nigh sky. The night sky is creamy clouds with reflected city lights from beyond the forest. Some patches of peach colors warm the clouds on the bottom and left. We're looking through a wet window, which gives the image a dream-like, hazy quality that feels like a fuzzy, subjective memory rather than a crisp, objective recording of a moment.
