Evening Standard rehiring Brian Sewell using the power of AI after sacking half the journalists at the outlet. deadline.com/2024/09/the-...
One of the best known art critics of his generation, the Evening Standard's Brian Sewell could be about to wield his pen once more in AI form.
I will never read any publication that generates content using AI, whether transparently or otherwise. If I wanted to know what Sewell thought about things I could read his actual writing. Otherwise, I could read living critics.
I read a great AI-generated piece on a Facebook music account yesterday, which talked about how brilliant the title track of Definitely Maybe is.
Alan Grant was on the money about this nonsense decades ago. bsky.app/profile/zach...
If they want the voice of Sewell they should pay Craig Brown, the cheap bastards.
I see dead people, worse, I can read their thoughts.
Where are they going to find all this art which artists are happy to have fed into their LLM to “review”?
I'm sorry, I'm young and dumb. "Acerbic art critic".. is this a white old man equivalent of a mean girl?
Satire is dead. Clearly. It cannot compete with reality any more.
I struggling to work out if this is real, satire or an AI generated story.
