From the inbox: "Marcellus Khaliifah Williams was lynched tonight, murdered by the U.S. at home while thousands are murdered abroad in Palestine, Lebanon, & Congo. We grieve and avenge our martyrs, & we know that terrorism begins & ends with the state." Avondale, Chicago
My heart is broken. I’ve never supported the death penalty and after this, I don’t know how anyone can support it. I was taught in law school that it’s better to let ten guilty people go free than to execute an innocent person. I guess that was bullshit.
It really hurts my heart how we are CONSTANTLY opposing the unjust executions of wrongfully convicted people. They still insist on killing, as if it will make the world better. It's just a careless, distasteful way to "deal" with our problems. Praying for Marcellus and his family.
