The UK and US electoral systems are both woefully unfit for purpose. In the UK you can get a massive parliamentary majority on a third of the votes, and in the US you can lose by 3 million votes and still win. Both have happened in recent years. It's insane.
They also were the only party clear eyed enough to see that Brexit has been a disaster and should be reversed as soon as is politically feasible - and unlike Labour they believe in defeating bigotry against migrants, protestors and trans people rather than enthusiastically adopting it.
Sure, they're wrong on nuclear, wrong on planning, wrong on the childbirth stuff, and so on but they were also much clearer than Labour on ending fossil fuels, stronger on most environmental policies, willing to properly invest in solutions and consistently anti-genocidal.
The Greens didn't "speak in a way that captures me". I voted for them as the least bad option on the ballot, because their policies were the closest thing on offer to a sufficiently robust response to the polycrisis.

I wouldn't say I dismiss all religious people because I disagree with their religion - there are very often plenty of points on which I can find agreement and which I'd consider to be more important - but I would just say that disagreement on religion is more than merely trivial.
I think the wrongness of religion matters more than we generally appreciate. Faith intrinsically entails a certain abandonment of the rigours of honesty - and that can never be a completely safe, healthy or innocent thing to have at the core of one's worldview or politics.
