Absolutely sick Cozy Powell drumming throughout, especially the final track

This guy wrote the most pedestrian-sounding book about arts criticism imaginable and literally titled it "Better Living Through Criticism." Such a silly character.

100 pages in, no idea where this is going or why anything is happening. Very funny.

“We need to make sure people get the new Covid shot. What’s the pitch?” “John Legend, playing a clear, honey-filled piano. There’s a tap in its side, so he pours himself a martini glass of honey. He pulls off a sleeve…” “Sold”

This was what made Shilts’s “And the Band…” so powerful to me. I was alive for the day to day terror and uncertainty of the early years. Wish everyone read that book.

In the sense that she didn’t have a second gear where everyone else was operating in 5th, yes. Nothing worse than the voiceover though. And was this the first Voigt/Hoffman movie since Midnight Cowboy?

Listen I’d be happy to discuss this movies many flaws but anyone who thinks this is just an outright failure is foolish. Very weird, very personal, totally unconventional. Preposterously great acting with a godawful script. Thematically incoherent but ultimately cynical. Do not dismiss.
