Lots of friction in international job matching 🤷Employers like to meet candidates, and don’t like expensive commitments to obtain work permits for unknown foreigners 🤷Workers don't know about employers Addressing these barriers are *part* of the reason for Job Search Visas

Arguments for and against a job-search visa
Yes:
Employers get to meet candidates (more and better matches)
Workers less dependent on employer for visa (more bargaining power)
Faster hiring (worker already present and can start immediately!)
Attract talent who wouldn’t otherwise have come to the country (marketing)
No:
Hard to know which job seekers are likely to succeed
Hard to know how long to give as a job search period
Hard to know where to set a cap on supply-side migration
Job seekers must support themselves during search
Risk that unsuccessful job seekers will fail to depart upon visa expiration
