I just got asked the question “What does ‘math’ look like?” Not numbers and equations but math as an abstract concept if it were some kind of boogeyman. And… … I don’t know but I feel like it should be something mildly terrifying, like a cosmic horror or something from Evangelion?!???

Yog Sothoth is the Key and the Gate, the Beyond One, Opener of the Way, the All-in-One, the One-in-All, the All-Encompassing. Math doesn't just look like Yog Sothoth, math IS Yog Sothoth.

Definitely a fractal of some sort. Lots of little details no matter where you zoom in, no matter how deep or broad you zoom.

Seems like a missed opportunity to break out some graphical representations of different mathematical concepts and models to show how math (and different maths) actually look to dispell the FoW and beat back the boogeyman in their mind.

Biblically Accurate Math Shape, think of a donut in a void between two of those infinite parallel planes you used to see in 1980s film ideas about what a cool computer game should look like, but the donut emits a cone-shaped web of vertically aligned fractal lines from its center, and it spins.

It is easier to answer the question “What does 'God' look like” because there are enough 'experts' in this field.

It's just a big number 1 with googly eyes, a university graduation cap, stickman arms/ legs, a meter stick to point at things with and gets really hype when you tell it "1+1 = 2".
