I have a student who is doing a comparative politics project in Irish politics and the American civil rights movement and had no idea there were so many links, interpersonally, philosophically& politically. I’m excited for more aspects of this comparative history to be told.
100%. England learned to be monstrous colonizers in Wales and Ireland, and to a lesser degree Scotland. That's why *to this day* we still have stereotypes of the Irish and the Scots (but not the Welsh bc people who aren't from there barely know the Welsh exist bc ENGLAND COLONIZED THEM SO EARLY).
