UPDATE: The FBI and the NYC Department of Investigation searched the offices of the NYPD School Safety Division in Queens this morning, apparently in connection with (in part) a possible contract with a firm called SaferWatch, which was offering a "'panic button'–type app system" for some schools.
Mayor Eric Adams said Thursday he will soon appoint a new commissioner for the NYPD to replace interim Commissioner Tom Donlon.
I thought it's been clear all along that NYPD is corrupt. Why, all of a sudden, is there a move to clean it out?
One reason I never could be NYC mayor - I don’t know near enough criminals. Sheesh.
FBI request the list of candidates from the mayor to speed up future investigations
So is this just like one investigation that kept revealing more and more as they gathered evidence, or are they all somehow directly connected?
Is this an absurdly expensive multi-year federal investigation or is this all of them scrambling so hard to get a deal that literally everything is being confessed to, largely unprompted?
