So why can't you have different suits but with standard connections and interfaces? You know, like we have USBs that work with all electronic devices.

As I understand it, the suits do different things - the biggest being that the SpaceX suit is built to receive cool air during entry while interior of the capsule heats, but the Boeing suit has no such provision (relying instead on the entire capsule to remain temperate)
