No wonder our hospitals still refuse to require masks, and don't enforce the areas that do. With public health leaders like this, it's no surprise we no longer trust doctors. We deserve actual public health, but that election thing keeps happening.

I always find it staggering, the sheer cognitive dissonance around covid and health. Especially from health professionals. We live in crazy times where we're dealing with a totally avoidable pandemic that's embedded around a world that's been told to ignore it. A 3 yr olds logic of invulnerability

Right. I wish more people understood. The difference between you and someone vulnerable to Long Covid is just time. Either you get to be old, acquire a new health problem, or are reinfected until your luck runs out. Key detail: past COVID-19 is a comorbidity that puts you at increased risk.
