That was brilliant (though I was concerned for your lungs-glad you called poison control)! The “no reason” place [whom I’m sure cited you as they always do with colleagues] show the tech chuckleheads wearing 1/2 face respirators. Better late than never: severe sulfur dioxide exposure hurts lungs.
