Back up? All of my stuff just lives on Appleā€™s servers. The entire Midwest could burn and all my work would be OK.

I could have used this just recently.

One of the things I like about research is that it could really mean any record set. A client recently hired me to photograph a group of papers from Augustus B. Woodward, first Chief Justice of the Michigan Territory. It turns out he has beautiful handwriting. #history#genealogy#ancestry

Document Excerpt - Augustus B. Woodward papers Box 1, photo by Jeremy Verdusco, from Burton Historical Collection, Detroit Public Library. Document from ~1790, in cursive on faded parchment, with coin-sized red stamp on right side. Document not transcribed, just used to illustrate penmanship.

Spent the last couple of days marketing a presentation on family tree research in newspapers. It's like the Venn overlap of my passion for genealogy and a career in journalism. #genealogy#ancestry#history

I shared an elevator with a guy in New York. When I told him I do freelance writing and editing, his response was, ā€œCool. How does that work? Does it involve a lot of cocaine?ā€ Um ā€¦ what??!!

Of course, not every client lead leads to work, but I still get a little spark of joy whenever I get an inquiry ā€” particularly a really interesting sounding one. #ancestry#genealogy

The advice Iā€™ve gotten mostly centers on getting the citations consistent. #genhour

The process has actually been amazing. I research, outline, write, fill in gaps (and repeat as necessary). I have the document work and KDP projects printed for line editing, so pretty far along with those. #genhour
