I think this kind of thing will become increasingly common (for all parties of government) as gov becomes increasingly hierarchical with all power with the executive. Those who are not afforded a place at the top more likely to feel no benefit of the party structure other than getting elected.

Govt isn’t becoming hierarchical, there are around 148 govt posts, that hasn’t changed much. There’s always going to be discontent in some. RD is just using the current media attacks as cover to avoid scrutiny.
