I haven't read the KOSA. How exactly will hit harm LGBTQ kids?
It does not adequately define harm, and in so doing will allow AGs to limit access to LGBTQIA+ information if the AG thinks it’s harmful. One of the bill’s cosponsors has said this is how they hope the law will be used.
The AG enforcement provisions will allow red state AGs to force platforms into discovery or file charges against them for arbitrary reasons. This will inevitably be wielded against any queer content, sex ed, advice/support, etc.
Aka "How does the bill that's just a slightly rephrased version of Florida's unconstitutional 'Don't Say Gay' bill hurt the faggots?" anothername
the 'harm to children' shit is incredibly vague and undefined and multiple far right groups have outright said 'yea we're gonna use this to attack LGBTQ shit as 'harmful to kids'.
I’ve been covering that, here’s two pieces over the course of its’ lifespan so far newrepublic.com/article/1747...newrepublic.com/article/1786...
A bill before Congress would help the far right advance its ideological war—but Democrats apparently haven’t noticed or don’t care.
