Ahh gotcha. My wife was a little hesitant as well; she's not too big on reality TV (honestly niether and I). It does get a little zany, but at the end it pulls the conceit together really nicely. It really helps that the guy seemed like a truly decent person. I find it similar to the Truman Show.
Have you seen Jury Duty on Prime? My wife and recently finished it and it was rather good!
It's a question of positionalities, surely. To "fall in" indicates a completed from-> to motion, becoming to being; you were not in the hole, now you are. Whereas "falling down" is only a singular direction of indefinite length. Could I still be falling down? So long as "down" persists, possibly...
I love an archaic turn of phrase, but if I know it is going to make my words unclear, then I'm running counter to one of the purposes of language. I need to know my audience and switch vocabularies as needed. I know for whom that particular bell tolls.
Ditto for when you say goodnight on the discord server. Do you hold your breath? I hold my breath. I'm a little odd.
The other four quadrants are Manipulative Insincerity, Obnoxious Aggression and Radical Candor.
I am so sorry to hear that. I know that dread as well and I hope it is something that can be cleared up with a minimum of complications.
I will concede the point regarding privilege and it's something I should remind myself of more often to temper my opinion. I think, even more broadly, everyone can be curious about *something* and even if that desire is thwarted by circumstance, it is sad when even that is not present.
Ignorance can be excused; we are all born ignorant. Being incurious can not. I swear there is a correlation between being incurious and lacking empathy. If you don't care about the world around you, you tend to not care about the people in it.
