First Concert: Amy Grant & Michael W Smith. Yes really. Last Concert: Sarah McLachlan Worst: DMB (I love you Dave - but tiny spiders, really?) Best: Lyle Lovett in Palo Duro Canyon Most Surprising: Pitbull Happy I got to see: Pet Shop Boys (they hardly tour) Wish I could've seen: U2 in the Bad days
> Pet Shop Boys So jealous!
I saw U2 live at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas in 1983, with the Alarm as their opening act. Fantastic energy in a tiny venue. Bono cruised past us on the backs of empty chairs and stood with a fan to sing for a verse or two. It's a great memory to have.
I saw U2 during the taping for Rattle & Hum with B.B. King as the opener. Let's just say that they didn't disappoint. I would love to see the Pet Shop Boys and have never seen DMB even though they are one of my fave bands
You know what they say, friends are friends forever...
First Concert: Heart Last Concert: Jonathan Coulton Worst: REM (last show of a tour and they were wiped) Best: Rush and Blue Oyster Cult Most Surprising: 38 Special Happy I got to see: Pink Floyd Wish I could've seen: Queen
Can I play? First Concert: (rock) Beach Boys Last Concert: Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra Worst: Mojo Nixon's first show (RIP Kirby, but it was so bad) Best: Crucial Country (&friends) @Telluride Bluegrass '90 Most Surprising: Flecktones--every time! Happy I got to see: Grateful Dead (many times)
That first one sounds like it was a youth group outing. 😄
I would have been pretty jazzed to see that Amy Grant and Michael W Smith one as a kid. A Michael W Smith album was one of my first CD purchases
Palo Duro is a sick concert venue, I've only seen Texas there
I have the same first concert as you, and I never tell anyone. Well except everyone on bsky just now.
