Excellent thread. Soft magic systems work great for books but games have to have defined rules. I wonder how much D&D has influenced this hard magic system tendency?
Gave up reading a well-known pundit’s grudging endorsement of Harris after the usual accusations of vacuous incompetence, DEI hire, etc. Will note this, which I said on stage as a special guest on @mollyjongfast.bsky.social’s podcast. Biden dropped out 10 weeks ago as of Sunday.
Biden had long been underperforming with a critical part of the Democratic base: young voters. When Harris stepped up, there was strong anecdotal evidence that this would turn around. Now we have some real data, and it’s very good news for Democrats. My write-up in the replies.
We just drove through Michigan and saw a surprising number of Harris signs but would have been thrilled to see more.
