I have to say I find it extremely annoying when someone justifies not voting or voting third party because they think Harris is going to win their state anyway āļø
It is being unserious about one of ones most important responsibilities.
I spent so much of 2016 railing at old friends in āsafe statesā who spent all their time joking about Trump on FB, not thinking about how many of their relatives in āunsafeā states could now think, āwell, if even Liberal Cousin Ron thinks Trump is just a joke, I donāt have to worry about it.ā
As others have noted, THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE ISNāT THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS (screaming into the void)
You know what else is annoying? Voting for a 3rd party candidate ANYWHERE on the ballot and then having some braying moron talk about how it's a throwaway or a protest vote. Fuck off. "You need to vote. Wait, wait - not like that!!" Clowns don't get to protest being part of the circus.
Thatās how tRump won the first time.
If you need a justification: Running up the popular vote total is a good thing even it won't make a difference in THIS election. A huge popular vote win (or, possibly, loss, eek) and narrow EC could (Lord willing) lead to the end of the EC.
I live in California, and like hell Iām not gonna fucking vote against fascism. Absolute insanity to do otherwise.
I mean, there's more people down ticket who need votes too, where every vote does make a difference.
Ask those idiots how that worked for Hillary and Rowe v Wade
