I wish we could have an international day of mourning for every life lost. An acknowledgement that we all suffer when anyone suffers and that we cannot be free when someone else is not, and that every life, regardless of whose, is precious. And worthy of our weeping.

1st March is Disability day of mourning and the posts I've seen talking about it always mention covid. I know it's not what you're trying to say but thought I'd mention it anyways in case it helps someone.

We haven’t even fully reconciled with the millions of lives lost globally from Covid. We’ve collectively pushed so hard to “get back to normal” when those numbers are so so huge. We are all still traumatized from that, but can’t recover before yet another disaster. Wars, guns, climate change. Ugh

I have been saying this for years now. We need to stop and acknowledge the grief, because all of that grief is coming out as anger and it's killing us.
