Star Wars at a drive in, watching from the way back of a station wagon with paper bags of homemade popcorn. Empire and Wrath of Khan in 70mm at the glorious old Belle Meade theater in Nashville. The Raid at Union Square, where strangers were jumping up and high during each other.

I *loved* the Belle Meade theater as a kid. Caught first-day showings of Empire and Return there. A relic of the glory days of cinema.

One of my favorites was going to see The Last Jedi in the theater with my advisor and one of his kids. It was a 7am showing, and my advisor snuck in an entire box of donuts under his winter coat! 😂

A Star is Born, the Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper one from 2018, at a theater that was all 30+ year old women. We all were ugly crying by the end & strangers were hugging one another afterwards but it was like taking a deep breath after a very hard task, very cathartic

Summer drive-in screenings are the easy to enjoy popcorn flicks like Star Wars. I vividly remember watching Revenge of the Sith (my generations SW) at the drive-in as a double feature.

Midnight premiere of Blade, the place went insane during that opening rave scene, high fives , jumping out of seats, running in the isle, whole movie was like that, it's was so awesome. Like everybody stood outside the theater and talked about their favorite scene for like an hour... crazy

I have a hazy, happy memory of falling asleep to Star Wars at the drive-in from the way back of a station wagon. I was maybe four, and I think it was a double feature with Corvette Summer, because I remember waking up and being confused at why Luke was looking for a car on Earth.

Saw Star Wars at a drive-in too. I'll never forget how the space scenes seemed to be a part of the summer sky

Ghostbusters. The original 80’s version seen in a Manhattan theater on vacation, where all the screens were showing it simultaneously.

Watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the first time in 1975 at the Student Theatre at UC Riverside under a thick fug of marijuana smoke.
